Rader Art Studios is located inside Tannery Row Artist Colony in historic Buford, Georgia—a place where private practices exist alongside the quiet momentum of a working creative community.
The colony brings together artists working across painting, clay, sculpture, jewelry, printmaking, and mixed media. Behind each studio door is a different process, rhythm, and point of view. That proximity matters. Even when we are absorbed in our own work, there is a sense that something is always being shaped nearby.
More than a place to make.
I want my studio to become a place where collectors and curious visitors can experience art before it reaches a finished wall. The conversations that happen around works in progress are different from those that happen in a formal exhibition. They are slower, more personal, and often reveal why a piece is taking the direction it is.
I am beginning to imagine open studio mornings with coffee, opportunities to watch artists create, intimate workshops, and thoughtful gatherings for collectors. I am also preparing for a future studio edit: a special release of studies, earlier works, and pieces from the archive as I reshape the studio for what comes next.
A working studio can be both private laboratory and welcoming room—a place for making, looking, and conversation.
This journal will follow that evolution. I will share what is being made at Tannery Row, introduce moments from life inside the colony, and announce open studios, workshops, and special events here as plans become dates.
